In the age of the internet and women’s independence, there are several things we can do on our own and planning your own wedding is no different. There are so many websites that I could choose from; read as many online articles on how to plan a wedding. Then I could ask my sister, who is also my maid of honor, to make sure that the pastor, cake, food, photographer etc. arrive on time. And while she’s at it, she should ensure that parents of the bride & groom are in place and know what is expected of them. Then I could ask my cousin to just use his laptop to play music and my auntie could bake the cake.

Yea, I could do all of that and keep calm for my big day! Well, let me honest with myself for a quick minute- this is chaotic with my 200 plus guests.

Just thinking about it is so overwhelming and our moms had advised that I get a wedding planner and you know ‘moms know best’.
