  1. In 2015, The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) reported that Jamaica broke the 2 million mark in stop over arrivals alone. And the following year, Destination Jamaica was listed on the TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice award as #3 on the ‘World’s Best Island’ list. This was based on data collected over a 12 months’ period from destinations worldwide. TripAdvisor is the largest travel website in the world and its branded sites makes up the largest travel community in the world. TripAdvisor allows travelers to provide feedback and advice as well as booking facilities and planning features. TripAdvisor functions as the ultimate ‘go to’ site for all travelers, therefore receiving top ratings from them tells a lot about worldwide destinations. According to an article on the Jamaica Information Service website, TripAdvisor, has also, rated Destination Jamaica as the #1 Caribbean tourist destination. The article quoted the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, explaining that top rating is attributed this to the improvement in the island’s tourism product and “the high class, white glove service that employees in the industry give to every visitor”.

It was owned and by its owner, Dr. McCatty and his friends, who were mainly from the medical profession and, at that time they entered the tiny beach through a cave which no longer exists as it was destroyed in 1932 by hurricane. It became more popular after a boosting article by a famous English Osteopathic doctor- Dr. Herbert Barker. He claimed that the water has very curative elements. The article led to a direct increase in visitors (rich & famous) to Doctor’s Cave. 7 Miles Beach in Negril is another of Jamaica’s most popular beaches. Without any structural interruptions, this is the longest stretch of beach on the island. It is perfectly bordered by luxury 5 star & boutique hotels and ample bed & breakfast lodgings for those who wish to stay there or you can always enjoy traveling to Negril just for the experience which will never disappoint you. Popular amongst spring breakers and vacationing couples/families alike, this 7 Miles stretch of beach is never overcrowded. Other famous beaches in Jamaica: Bluefield’s Beach- Westmoreland; Cornwall Beach- Montego Bay; Dunns River Falls- Ocho Rios.

  4. There is no shortage of things to do and places to see when visiting Destination Jamaica. Here are a few: Rio Nuevo Village- ‘One of the best scuba-diving sites off Jamaica’s coast appears just offshore from Jamaica Beach, to the west of Rio Nuevo.
